A Little Slice of Heaven by the Sea
Welcome to the Chapel
Welcome to the Rotary Broadwater Chapel By The Sea, the only Chapel on the waterfront of the Gold Coast, now open for bookings to celebrate life’s special ceremonies.
The Rotary Broadwater Chapel By The Sea was formerly the Prayer Chapel of the original Gold Coast Hospital in Nerang Street, Southport. With the completion of the new Gold Coast University Hospital adjacent to Griffith University in 2013 and demolition of the original hospital imminent, the Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport Inc. were invited by Gold Coast Councillor Dawn Crichlow (O.A.M.) to save the Chapel and give it a new life.
The building was relocated to the Northern end of the Broadwater Parklands and has been renovated and extended by the Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport Inc. to increase capacity. It now offers internal seating for up to 42 people and a spacious deck overlooking the waterfront providing seating or standing space for more guests.
The Chapel can be found in the stretch of Broadwater Parklands between the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre and the Smith Street traffic lights. Adjacent to the Chapel is a community centre where post-ceremony activities could be hosted.
Rotary – Serving Humanity for 100 years since 1905.
The Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport Inc. gratefully acknowledge the support and donations from the local business community of the Gold Coast in helping create the Rotary Broadwater Chapel By The Sea. Without the generosity of our supporters, the beautiful renovation and extension of the Chapel would not have been possible.
Money raised from Chapel booking fees will enable the Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport Inc. to fund its many charitable community projects.
